Sticking To A Fitness Routine

Let me describe a situation to you, and we will see if you have been through it before in your life. Let’s say you decide to start a fitness program - you are going to run 3 nights a week (starting tonight), and then go for a swim during the summer months, one a week. Your diet will consist of very little fat, and you will attempt to cut out high GI carbohydrate foods during the course of your fitness regime. The first run goes well, and you are very enthusiastic to keep it up. The next run goes according to plan, but then there is a problem. For the third run, something else comes up, and you don’t get to go out to complete your fitness for the day.
From here on in, things start to go significantly downhill. For some reason, you just can’t seem to be bothered going out for your runs and your fitness routine comes to an abrupt end. So what went wrong here? Well, there could have been a number of things. Firstly - and this is advice that any fitness professional will give - don’t rush in to things and make plans that you will be unlikely to keep. Think modestly, and then follow through. You’ll be much better off for it in the long run.

Get Out and Walk For Your Daily Fitness
Posted on 01. Nov, 2008 by admin.
For some reason, people tend to disregard walking as a form of exercise. There is now a significant amount of proof that walking can actually be better for you than a long, tiresome run! And what’s the best thing about walking over running? Well, it’s simple to walk! Get up from your seat, visit the kitchen for a glass of water, and come to sit back down. There is 20 seconds of exercise! You didn’t have to leave your home, put on different clothes, or go out of your way for anything.
Of course, walking to and from the kitchen is probably not enough fitness each and every day. What I am simply trying to imply is that people should try to consider walking a little bit more! Let’s face it - most of the population does very little exercise anyway, so by encouraging more walking instead of full on running - this is sure to assist people in their fitness goals faster than doing nothing at all! Park further away from work, and walk the rest of the distance? Anything you can think of to walk that little bit further now and then.
